The Zambia Women’s National Team Coach Nora Häuptle has hit the ground running with the Copper Queens ahead upcoming FIFA international friendlies against Malawi with an involving training session.
The session held the Toyota Arena marked Häuptle’s first time on the pitch with the Copper Queens since taking charge of the team.
Her focus was on tactical drills, ball movement and team cohesion as she assessed the local players at her disposal.
China-based midfielder Ireen Lungu and Russia domiciled winger Xiomara Mapepa also took part in the training.
With the two FIFA international friendly matches against the Scorchers of Malawi set for February 22 and February 25, Häuptle is keen to instill her philosophy and ensure the team is in good shape.
The Copper Queens will use the friendlies against the Scorchers as a key test under Häuptle as they prepare for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) which will be held in Morocco in July.
