FIFA orders Power Dynamos to pay Cameroonian star K256,000

FIFA has ordered MTN Super League Side to pay K256,000 as compensation to Cameroonian international Lionel Bon Ngong for breach of contract.
The world soccer governing body through its Dispute Resolution Chamber has ordered the Copperbelt Energy sponsored side to pay Bon Ngong a total of K 525,370.88 which includes K256,000 for breach of contract plus 5% interest per annum as from August 1, 2024 until the date of effective payment.
Bon Ngong was represented by the Footballers and Allied Workers Union of Zambia (FAWUZ) in his contractual dispute with Power Dynamos Football Club.
FAWUZ had submitted the case to FIFA on behalf of the player in the interest of justice and fair treatment.
In a statement to made available to Mast Sports, FAWUZ general secretary Joe Kaunda said the union’s mandate was not to fight with the clubs but to work with them in a cordial manner.
“This decision sends a strong message to all clubs in Zambia that they must respect the contracts of their players and adhere to the rules and regulations of the game. However, we want to emphasize that our role is not to fight the clubs but to work collaboratively with them, “he said
“Our goal is to make their work easier by guiding and supporting them in doing the right thing. By fostering a culture of mutual respect and cooperation, we can create a football environment where both players and clubs thrive, ensuring the long-term development of the game in Zambia,” Kaunda said.
