Church elder says wife too big to satisfy him

By Charles Musonda

A WOMAN of Garden House Township in Lusaka has told the Matero Local Court that her husband inserts his finger into her private part, saying that it is too big for his satisfaction.

Jennifer Gololo, 34, told Local Court Justice Lewis Mumba that her husband, Moses Chiduku, 42, who serves as an elder in a local Christian church, had been subjecting her to unwanted sexual acts, telling her that she was too large for his satisfaction.

Gololo also said Chiduku had been verbally abusing her, calling her a ‘black mamba’ and ordering her to vacate their matrimonial home on the grounds that she was not educated and that he desired to marry an educated woman of European origin.

“I have nowhere to go because both my parents are dead. For eight months, we have had no sex, I have six children with him, and he has sold the house where I live with the children and he doesn’t buy mealie-meal and other necessities for the children,” she said.

Gololo told the court that she had previously run a small business, which eventually collapsed under the financial pressure of providing for their children.

“I used to sell guavas and charcoal just to feed the children. He asked our tenants to vacate the house because he had sold it. When I phoned him, he said he was in Kapiri, where he had bought trees for charcoal burning and that he had paid the K100, 000 debt he was owing someone from the K145, 000 he sold the house,” Gololo said.

Despite her grievances, she said she remained open to the marriage continuing, expressing her desire for Chiduku to play an active role in raising their children together.

In his submission, Chiduku dismissed his wife’s complaints, instead accusing her of keeping bad company whose influence had turned her against him.

He alleged that Gololo had lost interest in him following the collapse of his business.

Chiduku also accused Gololo of denying him sex for months dating back to 2021, adding that on the rare occasions they were intimate, she would only allow a single encounter.

He also said Gololo was a heavy drinker, accusing her of excessive alcohol consumption.

On the matter of their home, Chiduku denied having sold the property, clarifying that he had only surrendered the ownership documents to a money lender as security for a K145, 000 loan he had taken out to complete construction of the house.

Delivering his judgment, Justice Mumba declined to dissolve the marriage and reconciled the couple.

He urging Gololo and Chiduku to confront their problems together.

Justice Mumba advised Chiduku to be more transparent with his wife in their day-to-day affairs.

Justice Mumba warned Chiduku against disposing of the matrimonial home without his wife’s knowledge or consent, cautioning that doing so would expose him to the risk of imprisonment.
