Mabo, Siame make global tennis ranking

ZAMBIA Tennis players Kombe Mabo and Mukangwa Siame are among the junior players that has been ranked by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) across the world.

This follows their impressive participation at the J30 tournament.

“Two of our promising 15-year-olds have officially broken into the International Tennis Federation Junior World Rankings through their participation in the competitive J30 tournaments,” reads a statement posted on the Zambia Tennis Association (ZTA) official Facebook page.

Mabo of Green Buffaloes Tennis Club has been ranked 3, 682 (men’s category) while Siame (female) is ranked 3, 809 on the ITF junior world rankings.

Mabo, 14, is coached by his father Kombe Mabo senior,  an ITF coaching beginner and intermediate certified coach.

“This father-son partnership is proving to be a winning formula, combining passion, discipline and family dedication to the sport,” the statement reads.

On Siame, the statement reads: “As one of Zambia’s rising young female players, she has already shown her potential with a 40 percent win rate this season, competing with courage and resilience against international opponents. Their [Kombe and Mukangwa] breakthrough is not just about rankings. It’s about inspiring the next generation to dream bigger, train harder and believe that anything is possible.”
