ZAMBIA NOT A FARM

…Hichilema thinks Zambians are stupid – Mulusa

  • Mulusa says to Hichilema, we Zambians are stupid
  • He has doubled the cost of living three times backwards
  • If given another term, he will turn the country into his own company.

By Mast Reporter

THE problem with President Hakainde Hichilema is that he thinks Zambians are stupid and he can do whatever he wants like he is running his personal farm, Lucky Mulusa has said.

Mulusa, a former minister of national planning, said Hichilema should know that Zambians were not stupid; they had not forgotten all the promises he made to them before the 2021 elections.

He was commenting on the recent promise by Hichilema that if Zambians give him another term in 2026, he will double the country’s economy.

“He is a liar. This is a fact. President Hakainde Hichilema has retrogressed the economy three times since the Patriotic Front (PF) left it in 2021,” he said.

“To Mr Hichilema, we Zambians are stupid. He inherited a strong economy left by the PF and he has reversed it backwards. He has doubled the cost of living three times backwards, which has left Zambians languishing in extreme poverty,” Mulusa said.

He said he was ready to take on Hichilema for lying to Zambians that he had improved the economy when in fact, he had reversed it backwards three times from where the PF left it.

“He is a fake economist who has failed to address the country’s economy and the sufferings of the people. Zambians should not take him seriously and should not give him another term,” Mulusa said.

And Mulusa has warned Zambians that if they give Hichilema another term in 2026, he will turn the country into his own company called ‘Hakainde Hichilema Farm Enterprises Limited’.

He said Hichilema had rebased the country’s strong gross domestic product (GDP), which was left by the PF at US$59 billion, to US$26 billion in order to dupe Zambians and gain personal political mileage.

Mulusa said Zambians should know that Hichilema had inherited an economy that was already double the GDP that his government was bragging about today.

“President Hichilema, you look at every single promise that he made, he actually reversed it twice. He said ‘I’ll reduce the cost of living’, he will reduce the cost of fuel. He said he was going to reduce the exchange rate of the dollar. He has done completely the opposite by doubling everything three times [backwards],” Mulusa said.

Zambia’s GDP sat at over US$50 billion, but Hichilema had kept it suppressed below US$29 billion so that he could earn political mileage by simply rebasing it so that it shot above US$50 billion.

He said the PF had left it (GDP) at over US$50 billion.

If Hichilema wanted to argue, Mulusa said he could take him on in a one on one debate.

“We’ve both studied economics. So, he should not lie… You know, if Zambians really give him another chance, then we should call this country a Hakainde Hichilema Farm Enterprises,” Mulusa said.

He said the UPND government had terribly failed Zambians and could therefore not compare itself to the PF which undertook robust infrastructure development and improved it to unprecedented levels.

“You can only compare the PF robust infrastructure development to the levels Kaunda did in 1974. We increased and improved the efficiency of doing business in Zambia,” Mulusa said.
