State House youth desk coming – Mundubile

By George Zulu

WHEN voted into power in August, my government will deliberately create a youth desk at State House to address issues affecting our young people across the nation, National Reconciliation Party for Unity and Prosperity (NRPUP) presidential candidate Brian Mundubile has said.

Speaking when he addressed a mammoth rally in Kabwe’s Makululu compound on Monday, Mundubile said youths, vendors, marketeers, jerabos and farmers were the most disadvantaged people under the United Party for National Development (UPND) government.

“Today, we are here to share with you how we shall work when we form a government. Mainly, the people I have followed today are the youths, women, marketeers, vendors, farmers, students, small-scale miners known as jerabos, even taxi and yango drivers. I have followed you today. I will not forget the truck drivers. I have also come to speak to civil servants, the police, teachers, nurses, doctors and everyone else,” he said.

He said once he forms government in August, his first target would be creating a special desk at State House for youths and women.

Mundubile said Zambian youth were suffering because they did not have jobs and the business environment was not conducive.

“To our youths, we as Tonse-Pamodzi PF alliance, our focus is on youth and women empowerment. We have seen that our youths are suffering; they don’t have anything to do, they don’t have jobs, no business opportunities, even where you are surviving from, these guys in government have gotten all that away from you.

We have heard that even where you were working from as small-scale miners, imwe ama jerabos balimipoka babikako na fence. Now, for us, we shall give you back that black mountain so that you can operate it and that is why we shall have that office at State House,” he said.

He said women would have an opportunity to do business in an environment that was acceptable and profitable.

Mundubile said students, drivers and farmers should not worry about their future in the next development plan as they were critical to the governance and economic growth of the nation.

“We shall make life easier for our farmers, we shall bring back the proper operation of the Farmer Input Support Programme (FISP) to benefit the nation. We want to grow that sector for export and more money in our farmers’ pockets,” he said.
