LUNGU WAS MAN OF PEACE

…He worked towards uniting Zambia, says Bishop Ng’ambi

By a Correspondent

FORMER President Edgar Chagwa Lungu was a man of peace and love who should be remembered by God for doing his best for the country, says Praise Christian Centre (PCC) founder Bishop Edgar Ng’ambi.

In a statement of purpose during the memorial service of former president Lungu yesterday, Bishop Ng’ambi called for harmony between the government and the Lungu family.

He told mourners who attended the prayer that Lungu resisted forces beyond Zambia and stood as one of the greatest people on earth.

Bishop Ng’ambi reminded the congregation that God never forgets His son, stressing that Christ cried ‘it is finished’ on the cross and won a mighty victory.

“We are here today to remember this great son of the soil. We need prayer. This nation needs healing. President Lungu was a great man. He worked towards uniting this country. May the good Lord be with him,” he said.

Bishop Ng’ambi assured the Lungu family that they play from a winning side because God fought alongside them.

He urged the nation to embrace peace, insisting that enemies were not flesh but spiritual powers.

Bishop Ng’ambi warned against evil forces trying to control the country, saying God would always prevail over His people.

He urged Zambians to pray loudly and boldly saying that God would deliver Zambia just as He delivered Israel in one day.

“For the Lungu family, keep thanking God and ask Him to remember the former president. Let’s pray to remove the cloud hovering over Zambia. My nation is bleeding and it needs healing,” he said.

Bishop Ng’ambi said Zambia belongs to Jesus, that no weapon fashioned against the nation will prosper, and that the people must repossess the land in righteousness.

The memorial drew a wide range of leaders from different political, including Socialist Party (SP) representatives, the Citizens First (CF), PF Pamodzi Alliance, Tonse Alliance, United Liberal Party, Zambia We Want Party, New Heritage Party and National Democratic Congress.

Others were Zambia Republican Party, Zambia Must Prosper (ZMP) and National Congress Party (NCP).

Apostles, bishops, prophets, MPs and former ministers joined the gathering, standing together in prayer and reflection as Bishop Ng’ambi proclaimed that Zambia will overcome through God’s power.
