Kasama man arrested for defiling daughter, 14

A 43-YEAR-OLD man of Jazzy Township in Kasama District has been arrested for allegedly sexually abusing his 14-year-old biological daughter.
Northern Province Police Deputy Commanding Officer Dr Charles Mbita confirmed the arrest, saying the incident occurred on Sunday, March 29, at around 22:00 hours after the victim’s mother had left for work.
The case was reported to police by the victim’s mother.
“Brief facts of the matter are that on 29th March 2026 around 06:00 hours, the mother of the victim left home for work, leaving the victim together with her biological father at home,” he said.
Dr Mbita said at around 22:00 hours, the victim went to her bedroom and her father forcibly entered the room, overpowered her and allegedly sexually abused her.
He said following morning at around 06:00 hours, the victim informed her grandmother of what had happened.
“The victim reported the incident to her grandmother, who subsequently informed her mother when she returned from work,” he said.
He said the mother reported the matter to Kasama Police Station, leading to the arrest of the suspect.
“The suspect is still in detention and will appear in court soon,” he said.
