Clinical officers disown ‘boxing’ Ndola man

THE Clinical Officers Association of Zambia (COAZ) has rejected reports on social media that one of its members from Ndola Teaching Hospital battered a police officer.
Speaking in an interview with The Mast, COAZ general secretary Dr Kamfwa Musonda said the individual involved may work for the Ministry of Health but was not a part of the association.
Dr Musonda said the association condemned all acts of violence and unprofessional behaviour.
“The actions of this kind amount to professional misconduct under Section 66 of the Health Professions Act No. 17 of 2024,” he said.
Such conduct was unacceptable and went against the ethical standards required of health professionals.
Dr Musonda said the association was committed to promoting professionalism, accountability and ethical practice among its members.
He said COAZ will continue to uphold the integrity of the profession as the association continued to work with authorities to maintain standards in the health sector.
