A STRONG United Party for National Development (UPND) supporter in Sinda District of Eastern Province George Mwanza says government does not understand what is taking place under the Farmer Input Support Programme (FISP).
In a write-up posted on his Facebook page, Mwanza said farmers are still being scammed of their inputs by civil servants under the UPND government.
“If President HH [Hakainde Hichilema] has a blind spot, an area he can’t see properly or see through because it is still midnight, it’s FISP. The poor farmers are still scammed of their FISP inputs which came in their name just as it was in ECL’s [former president Edgar Lungu’s] dark days,” he said
Mwanza said if the 2026 presidential election were an examination and he was made a marker to mark Hichilema ‘s performance, he would give him 70 per cent as the 10 per cent could be taken away for not acting on the perpetrators of FISP fraud.
Mwanza, who previous was district chairperson for MMD, said some of the scammers were aspirants who wanted to contest as members of Parliament and council chairpersons.
“Can you imagine that some of these FISP scammers want us to elect them on some sensitive positions such as MP and council chairperson in 2026 elections. Sikuzankhala ku scammer banthu CDF [Constituency Development Fund] grant, loans and contracts manje,” he wondered.
And Andrew Zulu, a resident, said vote is a secret and all those that mismanaged farming inputs were well known to the public.
“Vote is a secret. We know some people who injured our parents in 2023. My parents never collected anything even after depositing the money for FISP and we know people who are behind this,” Banda said.
Banda also noticed that in Sinda some people thought they were
“The government works hard to help people but when help riches, it disappears,” he said.
Banda also noticed that the district had many of people who were tarnishing the image of government.
