POLICE BOSS CAMPAIGNS FOR HH

…Hamaamba urges Zambians to support ‘working’ President and UPND

By Mast Reporter

ZAMBIANS must support President Hakainde Hichilema because he is doing well by taking the country to the promised land, newly appointed deputy inspector general of police Fred Hamaamba has said.

Hamaamba showered Hichilema with praises saying because of his leadership, the  situation in Zambia was better than it was before he took over the presidency.

Speaking when he paid a courtesy call on Nakonde district commissioner and other government officials last week, he said Hichilema had a vision for Zambia and therefore should be supported by all Zambians.

“I’ve decided to come here to appreciate the vision of our able President, whose vision tells us that the country is now going in the right direction than it was before. I won’t be ashamed to mention that. Even those who hate him deep down in the bottom of their hearts, they know the President, the republican President, Mr Hakainde Hichilema, is doing fine,” Hamaamba said in his mostly political remarks unrelated to law enforcement.

He said he was not ashamed to support Hichilema for improving the lives of the people of Zambia, unlike the way it was previously.

Hamaamba said Hichilema had a vision and a heart for the people of Zambia, urging Zambians to support the ruling party.

“He has got the best vision so far, which we need to support. We have to support his vision. No matter what, we have to support his vision because it’s leading us somewhere. It’s driving the country into a right direction than where the country almost went. We are happy. I don’t know what we would do… if things went the other way,” he said.

Hamaamba said if Hichilema had lost the 2021 election, there would not have been the peace the people of Zambia were now enjoying under his leadership.

“I don’t think the country would continue enjoying the peace that we are enjoying now. Some of us we were the most victims of our friends who went. We spent most of our time in the bush, running away from our own country. I don’t think we would like to see such kind of things where our own citizens would run away from their country because of a lack of peace. I would urge you, all of you, including myself, to allow President Hichilema to continue,” he said.

Last week, Hamaamba was in Muchinga Province on a familiarisation tour where he met senior police officers in Mpika, Serenje, Mkushi, Chinsali, Isoka and Nakonde Districts.

Hichilema promoted him to the position of deputy inspector genera l of police in charge of operations while former Central Province commissioner of police Charity Mung’anga was elevated to deputy inspector general of police in charge of administration.
