You’ll persih, PAC warns Zambians

By George Zulu

ZAMBIANS will perish if they vote back into government the current leadership next year, People’s Alliance for Change (PAC) president Andyford Banda has warned.

Banda said Zambians should be worried about the continuous erosion of political leadership in the country.

“We totally understand because there has been a continuous erosion of political leadership in our country over the years. The abnormal has become normal. Many politicians only make decisions that serve their personal agendas, as opposed to the fake campaigns they make,” he told The Mast.

Banda noted that even if the situation was bad, Zambians should not lose hope but believe in better leadership.

He assured fellow Zambians that there were better people who could lead the country with dignity, honesty and sincerity.

“It is understandable that every decision a politician makes in our country is often perceived as being for personal interest. It has to be taken with a pinch of salt. Because that’s what we have become used to,” Banda said.

“However, as gloomy as the current picture may look, there is hope. You can rest assured that there are still some good men and women out there who are patriotic and willing to serve this country sincerely without looking at what is in it for me.”

There was an urgent need for the citizens, collectively individually, to do the right thing for their country, or they perish.

“Our population is swelling, yet, opportunities are getting thinner by the day, and our country’s revenue is not growing in accordance with the needs and enormous potential of our country,” he said.

Banda said the people of Zambia had a huge task of restoring lost order in the governance of the country.

He said it was not the time for giving up, but to fight for a better nation which would benefit all.

“It is therefore important that we build a political platform that will attract leadership that is selfless and places the interest of the people above self. At PAC, that’s what we are doing. We should not give up but use the little window of hope still available to do the right thing,” Banda said.

“True and sustainable ‘change’ only happens with a change of mindset -when the national agenda overrides personal interests. Let us therefore join hands and mobilise together to reboot our country.”
