WE’LL CRUSH YOU

..Mushanga threatens critics of his disputed victory

By Mast Reporter

UPND Bwacha South Member of Parliament Sydney Mushanga has threatened to “crush” Kabwe residents who notified police of a planned peaceful demonstration against the August 13 general election results.

The residents notified police of their intention to protest the August 13 results, which they described as a product of a fraudulent election.

They cited irregularities in Kabwe Central, Bwacha North and South, mayoral elections, including direct interference by armed soldiers and demanded answers from the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ).

However, Mushanga warned the protesters to do so at their own peril.

“Muye mubebe balya bonse abalandalanda pa filimba, abafwaya ukucita demonstrate, ati tuli in charge nomba, tatwabaleke twalabafyanta [go and inform those complaining about the election results that we are in charge now; we will crush them, we are not playing],” he warned.

Meanwhile, speaking when he delivered 135 title deeds to residents of Makululu, Mushanga said the UPND was back to work.

“Now that the elections are over, we need peace accompanied by hard work,” he said.

Mushanga said he was in the area to fulfil the promises he made during the August 13 general elections.

“During the campaigns, we promised our people the provision of title deeds, and today, 135 residents of Makululu have received their title deeds,” he said.

Mushanga expressed gratitude to Habitat for Humanity Zambia, the Ministry of Lands and the provincial administration for facilitating the handover.

“This is more than a ceremonial occasion. It marks a profound shift from uncertainty to security, from vulnerability to empowerment, and from marginalisation to recognition and dignity. We promised, and we are delivering. Now, we get back to work,” he said.

The Bwacha South Constituency election was marred by disruption by violent UPND cadres and interference by armed forces in favour of the ruling party.
