Saboi mocks UPND over ‘imported’ crowds

NATIONAL Democratic Congress (NDC) leader Saboi Imboela has accused the United Party for National Development (UPND) of bussing and trucking people from different areas to attend rallies in order to create a false impression of popularity.
Speaking to The Mast in a phone interview, Imboela said the worst form of lying is when a person lied to themselves.
“The UPND has lied to us in almost everything, in so many ways.
Now that they have finished lying to us, they are now lying to themselves,” she said.
“Importing people from all over to go and attend their rallies and then showing the public that they have popularity, they’re not lying to us. They are lying to themselves.”
She said Zambians already know what is happening on the ground and that the UPND had lost popularity.
“Come August 13, the results will show. People know what is going on. The UPND has lost popularity and it’s gone. Importation of people to attend these rallies is proof of that,” Imboela said.
He said Zambians should not forget the unfulfilled promises made by the UPND since 2021.
“The lies from 2021 are enough. Zambians have to be respected. The public should tell the UPND that they have had enough. They should be voted out so that we start on a clean slate. They have no respect for this country,” she said.
In a video circulating on social media, some buses that were used to ferry people to attend President Hakainde Hichilema’s rally on Friday in Petauke District in Eastern Province had been involved in multiple accidents.
Many people have been reported to have been injured and it is alleged that the people were promised K50 each to attend the rally.
