Man, 40, arrested for incest with daughter

POLICE in Eastern Province have arrested a man of Kasenengwa District for incest.
This is after the 40-year-old man of Mzikola Village allegedly had carnal knowledge of his 15-year-old biological daughter.
It is alleged that the suspect had been sexually molesting his first-born daughter for some time now, following a marital separation with his wife.
Eastern Province commissioner of police Robertson Mweemba said the abuse was reported to police and the man had been arrested.
Mweemba said the alleged crime was reported to Chiparamba Police Post, where it was revealed that the man had been living with his four children for two years since he and his wife went on separation.
“For the past two years, the suspect has been living with his children in a small house and did not allow family members to accommodate the children, preferring to keep them by himself,” he said.
Mweemba said the sexual abuse surfaced when the victim became sick and went to seek medical attention at a local clinic last week.
“Upon arrival at the clinic, the victim explained her ordeal to the health staff who later took it upon themselves to report the matter to the law enforcement agency,” he said.
“The perpetrator has been nabbed and remains in police custody awaiting court appearance,” he said.
Mweemba said the girl had since been taken to a safe house for counselling and protection.
