HH unleashes Fr Bwalya to insult Catholics, condemned
By Thandizo Banda
IT IS worrying to witness how the levels of desperation and determination by President Hakainde Hichilema to alter the Constitution have degenerated to hiring people to insult senior le of the Catholic church, opposing the ongoing illegal amendement, People’s Alliance for Change (PAC) leader Andford Banda has observed.
Banda in an interview yesterday said Catholic Priest Cum politician Father Frank Bwalya should re-think whether it was necessary to continue with his new assigned role of insulting fellow Catholic priests for their uncompromised stance against the rejected Constitutional amendments.
“We know that the people insulting the Church including Fr Bwalya are hired guns doing everything possible to pander to the whims of the paymaster(HIchilema),” said Banda.
Banda regretted it was now evidently clear that the dialogue meeting called to address concerns in the Constitutional review process was not driven by sincerely on the party of the Presidency.
“You can see this from the insults from the people supporting the flawed Bill 7, including the verbal abuse targeted at the Catholic Bishops who are part of the Oasis Forum from a member of the UPND aligned clergy in full view of the Head of State,” Banda noted.
“We appeal to HIchilema to condemn the insults as they are unchristian and against the biblical command in Psalms 105:15 which forbids any form of attacks against individuals chosen by God (Touch not my anointed ),” Banda said.
Banda urged citizens to join the fight against the illegal changes to the republican Constitution.
“Of all people fr Bwalya should be the last to abuse the Catholic church because it is where he belongs.
Banda urged all those being used by selfish individuals to champion the illegality to take time and think what would happen to them after President HIchilema and UnIted Party for National Development (UPND) leave office next year.
“Should Zambians choose to lay back and watch the Oasis Forum alone take on the beast by its horns, they will have themselves to blame for what will happen to the once cherished democracy the country has enjoyed since returning to Multi-party politics in 1991,” he added.
