…Re-electing Hichilema will be hell – APC

By Mast Reporter

ZAMBIANS will make a grave and an unforgivable mistake by electing President Hakainde Hichilema back into power next year, All People’s Congress (ACP) President Nason Msoni has warned.

In an interview with The Mast, Msoni said Hichilema had lost an argument to seek reelection because he had failed the people of Zambia terribly.

He said the only option remaining was for him and his administration to start packing and allow those with new ideas and love for the people of Zambia take over next year.

“Let’s not make the mistake of re-electing Hichilema next year. It will be more like hell on earth. The assertion by Obvious Mwaliteta that re-electing Hichilema next year will make Zambia heaven on earth is laughable. But it would be more like hell on earth,” he said.

Last week, UPND Lusaka Province chairman Obvious Mwaliteta said if citizens re-elect Hichilema next year, the country will be heaven on earth, a statement which has sparked an uproar with stakeholders accusing the ruling party of mocking suffering citizens.

Msoni said the uncoordinated speeches by those in leadership were hurting Zambians.

He warned that voting Hichilema back into government next year would be a direct endorsement and give credence to poverty, corruption, nepotism, tribalism, division and injustices.

“We urge the United Party for National Development (UPND) leadership to desist from making reckless political statements that appear to mock and provoke citizens. These statements from the UPND administration are not only hurting Zambians but mocking our poor people who are struggling to fend for their families,” he said.

Msoni wondered which Zambia would be heaven on earth when Zambians were living in total darkness as a result of load shedding.

He said Zambians were even failing to buy mealie meal at the UPND’s cheapest price of K250.

“When these guys came to power, they made commitments to end load shedding. This commitment was not made by Msoni; it was made by Hichilema. The question Zambians are asking is, has he ended load shedding in the four years he has been in government? Has he reduced load shedding since taking over? An honest answer is that Hichilema has taken the people of Zambia into deep darkness,” Msoni said.

“He has taken Zambians to a dark hell. The situation is worse than he found it. And this is the paradise and heaven on earth Hichilema and his friends are promising Zambians if they are re-elected next year.”

Msoni urged the UPND leaders to seriously introspect and reflect on their conduct before speaking or posting annoying material.

“The more they open their mouths, it’s all foul [language] from them.

Evidently, it is hell enough that the majority of Zambians are already going without food, electricity, and water, coupled with the skyrocketing prices of essential commodities. And for UPND this is paradise. The killing of small-scale miners at mines is another commitment they want to continue next year if they are re-elected. They want to continue with their selective corruption fight if given power again,” Msoni said.

He said the cure for immorality in the UPND government was regime change.

“The panacea of all these challenges facing Zambians lies in effecting a regime change rather than a regime engaging itself in propagating a non-existent utopia. In a nutshell, such political statements are like adding kerosene to a burning fire,” he said in reference to Mwaliteta’s statement.
