CENTRAL Province permanent secretary Dr Milner Mwanakampwe has warned councils in the region to ensure that the implementation of development programmes translates into improved lives especially for people in the rural and remote areas.
Dr Mwanakampwe said each council would by the end of the year have received a cumulative amount of K120 million since the increase of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) in 2022.
He said that money could facilitate improved access to health, education and empowerment initiatives that could improve the general well-being of the people.
Speaking at the mid-term performance review meeting for all the province’s councils held in Mkushi District yesterday, Dr Mwanakampwe emphasised the need for quality works on infrastructure projects.
Top council officers from all the 11 councils are attending the performance review meeting which started on Monday this week and is scheduled to end on Friday.
In the 2025 national budget government has allocated K36.1 million to each constituency under CDF for the implementation of development projects.
