SENEGAL women’s national team coach Mame Cissé says Copper Queens strikers Barbara Banda and Racheal Kundananji are dangerous players who can cause damage in a short space of time in a match.
Speaking to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) media online team ahead of the Group A match between Senegal and Zambia on wednesday, Cissé said playing against the two players was a challenge.
“This match against Zambia is a challenge, a real test for our team. We are underdogs but we will do our best to survive,” he said.

Cissé said the Copper Queens were a team with a lot of impact and speed, adding that they needed to be handled with seriousness.
“They are a team with a lot of impact and speed. They can cause damage in a very short space of time,” warned Cisse.
The Lionesses of Teranga coach, however, said the team would play to the best of its ability and strength.
“We will play to our strengths…we have to be clinical in both areas, efficient up front and solid at the back,” he added.
Senegal and Zambia yesterday faced each other in a Group A fixture at the ongoing 2024 Morocco TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) at the El Bachir Stadium in Mohamedia while the other game between hosts Morocco and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) was set for 21:00 hours at the same venue.
As at yesterday, Senegal were on top Group A with three points while Morocco and Zambia were second and third respectively with a point apiece. Morocco and Zambia played to a two-all draw in the opening match while the DRC are bottom of the table after losing 4-0 to the Lionesses of Teranga.
