Swedish businesses established in Zambia, Ambassador

ATLEAST 30 Swedish businesses have so been established and are active in Zambia, Swedish Ambassador to Zambia, Johan Hallenborg has disclosed.
Ambassador Hallenborg said Sweden, being the third largest bilateral donor of development assistance, was committed to providing employment and skills development to Zambians.
“The 30 Swedish businesses provide investments, innovation and spearheading sustainability supporting Zambia’s development. And with their solid business engagement, Sweden will continue to work hand in hand with Zambian partners for mutual prosperity and development,” he said.
He said the Swedish businesses were also providing high-qualitative employment and skills development to Zambia in order to promote economic growth.
Speaking in Lusaka during the anniversary to mark 60 years of Sweden’s relationship with Zambia, Ambassador Hallenborg disclosed that about 13 Swedish companies had so far been established in the country.
“This year’s 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Sweden and Zambia is focused more on its large impact of Swedish businesses, investment and commitment to sustainable, innovation and development,” he said.
Ambassador Hallenborg said the 60th bilateral relations with Zambia was anchored on the impact the Swedish investments had on Zambians.
He emphasised the long-standing relationship between the two countries, which was being highlighted in many sectors.
“Sweden and Zambia’s relations are deep and comprehensive, built solidly during the last 60 years. Sweden has since Zambia’s independence been a committed partner for development,” said Ambassador Hallenborg.
Ambassador Hallenborg said the cultural, academic, political, and economic exchanges between the two countries were of immense value to both nations.
