UPND loaded with liars, says Changala
By Tony Nkhoma
THE United Party for National Development (UPND) is loaded with liars who should not be trusted, governance and human rights activist Brebner Changala has said.
Changala said most UPND members of Parliament would not come back to Parliament after the 2026 general elections.
Zambians would not vote for them because they had delivered nothing.
Changala said in an interview with The Mast a day could not pass before one caught a liar under President Hakainde Hichilema and the UPND regime.
He said Zambians were now aware that any UPND member who opened his or her mouth to speak was full of lies.
“Because the leadership of the UPND is loaded with liars. You don’t need to take a day before you catch a liar in this administration, and none of them is facing legal penalties or being arrested. It’s only the others that are suffering,” Changala said.
He expressed worry that UPND members issuing dangerous verbal attacks on the opposition were being left scot-free while opposition members were being jailed.
“Despite their ambitious lies and dangerous verbal attacks on the opposition members and other innocent Zambians, they have been scot-free and none of them is facing legal penalties,” Changala said.
He said Zambians would not vote for many of the UPND MPs who had been in Parliament much longer than was necessary and had delivered literally nothing.
“The 2026 general election will not admit people like [Monze MP] Jack Mwiimbu, [Choma MP] Cornelius Mweetwa and the other many veterans in the UPND who have been in that House longer than is necessary and delivering literally nothing. The UPND is in a situation,” Changala said.
He said the current group of politicians in the UPND were not honest and were taking the people for granted, especially the voters.
“The 2026 general election will not be just like any other general election. First and foremost, we must agree that there will be generation shifts,” Changala said.
He said majority Zambians had risen to reject political deceptions and would not be taken advantage of by the politicians in the 2026 general elections.
