Findlay needs urgent medical care, says family

By Thandizo Banda

THE Findlay family says incarcerated businessman Harry Findlay has been on a drip since September 2 and urgently needs specialised hospital treatment after 34 days in detention.

The Findlays warned that whatever the allegations against Harry, his life cannot be restored if it is lost.

In a statement issued yesterday, the family said Harry had been moved between facilities and was untraceable for 12 days.

They also said he was denied prescription medication and his health was deteriorating.

“He needs specialised medical treatment the State is aware of his medical condition! We are seeing someone we love become weaker day by day! Detention should never become punishment! His life matters, his health matters!”  the statement reads.

The family said they filed a Habeas Corpus application to have Harry brought to Court.

The Findlay family said after several adjournments due to the State not producing him, the Court heard the application in his absence.

“Regardless of the charges, every human being has constitutional rights! Harry has rights! We appeal that these rights are afforded to him!” the statement reads.
