KANSANSHI Dynamos have bolstered their attack with the signing of Ugandan forward Joseph Ssemujju on a 17-month contract running from August 2026 to December 2027.
Ssemujju joins the Fearless Mabanga Boys as a free agent after most recently featuring for Uganda Premier League side URA FC.
Speaking after completing his move, the Ugandan striker expressed excitement at joining Kansanshi Dynamos and vowed to make an immediate contribution to the team.
“I’m excited and happy to be here. Kansanshi Dynamos fans should expect goals because I’m a striker, and my role is to try and score goals. I want to elevate my game, do my best and push for the team,” Ssemujju said.
He said he would fight for a starting place and promised not to disappoint his new club.
Ssemujju said he had settled in well, noting that the similarities between Uganda and Zambia had made it easy for him to adapt.
“All I can say is that expect a lot of goals since I’m a striker and I’m targeting elevating my game,” he said.
The forward said he had found the Zambian league more competitive and physical than the Ugandan top flight.
In a statement yesterday, Kansanshi Dynamos public relations officer Gwen Chipasula said Ssemujju, who primarily operates as a striker, would provide additional attacking options for the club.
“The signing forms part of the club’s preparations for the 2026 Transitional League, which kicks off on 3 October 2026, as the club continues to strengthen its squad ahead of the new campaign,” Chipasula said.
Club general secretary Mweshi Mupeta welcomed Ssemujju, saying his arrival was part of the club’s efforts to assemble a competitive squad ahead of the Transitional League.
“We are pleased to welcome Joseph to Kansanshi Dynamos. We believe his qualities will add value to the team as we prepare for the Transitional League. We look forward to seeing him contribute to the club’s objectives and settle well into the team,” Mupeta said.
