Media owners, marketers ink cooperation pact

THE Zambia Institute of Marketing (ZIM) and the Media Owners Association of Zambia (MOAZ) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at advancing the interests of both professions across the country.
ZIM president Danny Chanda said in a speech read on his behalf by his vice president Eric Ngondo the purpose of the MoU was to establish a strategic partnership that enabled knowledge exchange, professional development, advocacy and joint initiatives.
“Through this collaboration, we seek to bridge the gap between the media and marketing spheres, ensuring that our professionals are equipped with the skills and insights necessary to thrive in a rapidly evolving environment,” Chanda said.
He said the two organisations would work together towards raising the bar of professionalism, driving innovation and amplifying the voices of respective members.
Chanda was confident the partnership would unlock new opportunities not only for the two organisations but also for the broader Zambian business community.
“Uniting our strengths and resources, we can champion best practices, nurture emerging talent and contribute meaningfully to our nation’s development,” he said.
Chanda said ZIM would provide marketing, sales, advertising and customer care training to MOAZ members to meet their needs according to the MoU.
MOAZ president Costa Mwansa said the MoU would unlock several opportunities for both partners and others.
Mwansa said MOAZ faced several challenges and pledged to work with ZIM to address them.
“It is a great pleasure to partner with the Zambia Institute of Marketing and we pledge to work closely so that we can achieve the desired goals,” he said.
Public Private Dialogue Forum research analyst Musonda Bweupe said the MoU would be reviewed after one year.
