Zambians need redemption, says Msoni

PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema has terribly failed Zambia and even the Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote has felt the failure just hours of being in the country, All People’s Congress (APC) leader Nason Msoni has said.
And Ndola mayor Jones Kalyati says never in the history of Zambia have citizens witnessed the magnitude of suffering going on under the United Party for National Development (UPND) rule.
In an interview with The Mast, Msoni said Hichilema had crashed the country into serious economic, political and social calamities, warning that Zambians were in deep trouble at the rate the country was being run down.
“It is not far from the truth that Hichilema is a failure. He has failed. He has taken Zambia 61 years back. Even Africa’s mogul, Aliko Dangote, has seen how failure is. How do you surely run a country like a casino? Hichilema has failed. Let him just go back to privatisation. But I don’t know what he will privitise this time around,” he wondered.
Msoni said Zambia was at a crossroads seeking a third Messiah to redeem the people from the shackles of poverty, dictatorship and economic sabotage.
And Dr Kalyati, who is Ndola Patriotic Front (PF) district chairman, says Zambians are suffering and if nothing is done to correct the situation, the country will be destroyed.
“Ala abantu nabachula na panshi patalala. Fyacilamo [citizens have suffered enough. It’s too much],” Dr Kalyati said.
He said the Ndola community had been pushed to the edge by the UPND’s misrule, which had seen skyrocketing commodity prices and cost of living.
“They [UPND] have failed to bring new industries here in Ndola. They have only created a hostile environment for business owing to the energy crisis and the escalated cost of doing business. Under this administration, you can’t find a job, you can beg, there is nothing one can do because even just dying people are scared because they don’t know what kind of burial they will have,” Dr Kalyati said.
He urged Zambians to wake up and register to vote in next year’s general elections to correct the mistake they made in 2021.
“Ba Zambia nabakwata [has] an opportunity, and it is time to register as a voter and vote in next year’s election. This leadership must go at all costs. It has brought serious suffering to the people of Zambia; people are even scared to die as they don’t know the kind of burial they will have,” Dr Kalyati said.
He challenged the UPND to build more schools and health facilities, matching what the PF left behind.
“Today, UPND is boasting of having recruited civil servants. The questions Zambians should be asking them is who trained those now civil servants? Who built this infrastructure they are busy commissioning and placing public workers in,” Dr Kalyati said.
He said the PF had demonstrated democracy by allowing as many presidential candidates as possible ahead of the party convention slated for this month-end.
“As the Ndola district, we would like to listen to all of the aspirants before endorsing any of them. But we will eventually come up with one name,” Dr Kalyati said.
He condemned the Chingola chaos witnessed a week ago during President Hakainde Hichilema’s visit.
