CHIPOLOPOLO GET TOUGH COSAFA DRAW
…Avram Grant’s side will play Botswana, Comoros at the 2025 COSAFA games to feature Morocco as guest team

ZAMBIA has been drawn in Group D of the 2025 Hollywoodbets Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) Cup Championship which will also feature 2022 FIFA World Cup semifinalists Morocco as a guest team.
According to the draws conducted yesterday, the Avram Grant tutored side will face other Group D contenders, Botswana and Comoros in the group stage during the tournament set for June 4 to June 15, 2025 in Mangaung, South Africa.
The Chipolopolo will enter this year’s competition as the most successful team after winning the COSAFA title for seven times, one better than Zimbabwe who have lifted the cup six times.
The draw format this year will give teams an opportunity to play up to five matches at the group stage.
Group A and B have four teams each respectively while Group C and D has three teams, making it an ideal environment for competitive match fitness and tactical progress.
Morocco are making a debut at this year’s tournament.
The North West African team are placed in Group C alongside Madagascar and Eswatini while Group A has hosts South Africa, Mozambique, Mauritius and Zimbabwe with Group B comprising Angola, Namibia, Malawi and Lesotho.
