ALL is set for tonight’s Zambia National Amateur League six Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fight night to be held at the Scream night club in Lusaka.
The Zambia National Amateur League six MMA fight night has been hosted in preparation for the Africa Championships to be held later this year.
MMA president Benjamin Bush has told the Mast Sports in an interview that a total of 44 athletes are expected to square off in 22 fights at the event.
”Everything is going fine. We are a little underfunded for the event, but we are going ahead. You know, this is in preparation for the Africa Championships. The event is going to be absolutely phenomenal. So please encourage people to come down because that’s important,” Bush said.
He said of the 44 athletes, six fighters were coming from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) Congo.
“So preparations are going extremely well. There are 22 fights on the card, which is a large number of fights as 44 athletes. And every single fight on the main card is just absolute fire,” Bush said.
He said the headline fight was an all Zambian contest involving Jai ‘Boyka’ Chilufya ‘the Road Warrior’ versus Killian Lungu while the co-main event is a contest between Jarcel Chimbwe from Ulema Fight Academy versus Cedric Kalenga from Kowaze Fight Club.
