Chanda preaches hard work, business

UNITED Party for National Development (UPND) Alliance council of presidents member Charles Chanda says Zambians must embrace hard work, unity and entrepreneurship.
Chanda said hard work was in line with President Hakainde Hichilema’s vision of building a better and more prosperous Zambia.
He said every Zambian had a role to play in driving economic growth and creating opportunities for communities across the country.
“I believe that artisanal mining is one of the key avenues through which ordinary Zambians can participate directly in economic activity, create employment and improve household incomes, particularly in mining communities like Lufwanyama,” he said.
Chanda said a country can only grow if its citizenry participates in national development.
“I want to call for greater support and empowerment of artisanal miners, since the sector can contribute significantly to Zambia’s economic development when properly organised, regulated and supported,” he said.
He also urged citizens to remain focused, productive and committed to supporting the country’s development agenda.
Chanda said meaningful progress requires government and citizens to work together.
“Let us believe in Zambia, work hard and support initiatives that create opportunities for our people. Artisanal mining can be a powerful pathway to economic empowerment when our people are given the right support,” Chanda said.
Chanda called for unity, peace and patriotism, saying Zambia’s future depends on the collective efforts of its people.
